Recycling

OUR RECYCLING ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTIVES

Our environmental objective seeks to the recycling of one ton of paper to

  • Save enough energy to power the average Ghanaian home for six months
  • Save 7,000 gallons of water
  • Save 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emission by one metric ton of carbon equivalent

SUCCESS STORY

Nearly 25 organisations have signed on our clean “Clean Your Files Day” concept. Clean Your Files Day is our official Accra City adopted recycling event to encourage the offices working staff on waste paper collection. This is to enable employees to clean out their files and recycle the office paper at work. This simple concept is being piloted among some corporate bodies in the country, resulting in recycling rates increasing to ten times the normal rate of collection, below are just a few of organizations that have signed on to this waste paper recycling project:

GREEN EVOLUTION

In view of our recyclable plan, we strive further to reduce the impact of our activities on the environment; initiatives are in place to increase our use of recycled waste paper in the manufacture of our products. This has already commenced with the use of tissue manufactured from 100% recycled fibre, a majority of which is collected by APM Recyclable Paper from post-consumer waste supply streams via offices, institutions, shops and market centre collections and bona fide waste management organisations. Our green evolution strategy will be 70% of our corporation responsibilities to help keep Ghana clean by our daily collection of card and paper waste. This will also reduce government and businesses expenditure on waste collection and management.
